BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Antimachos I, circa 180-165 BC. Obol (Silver, 11 mm, 0.70 g, 12 h), Baktra. Diademed and draped bust of Antimachos I to right, wearing flat topped kausia. Rev. [ΒΑ]ΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΘΕΟΥ - [Α]ΝΤΙΜΑΧΟΥ Poseidon, nude to the waist, standing facing, holding long trident in his right hand and filleted palm branch in his left; to lower right, monogram. Bopearachchi 4B. HGC 12, 111. MIG 127c. A beautiful piece, lightly toned and struck on good metal. Faint cleaning scratches and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
